Publication of a Clostridium difficile Special Issue of
the Journal of Medical Microbiology

Following the great success of the Clostridium difficile special issue of  the Journal of Medical Microbiology published from papers presented at the First International Symposium (JMM 2005; 54, part 2), the editor-in-chief and the publishers (Society for General Microbiology) have agreed to publish another special issue for this second symposium.

All authors of papers – both oral and poster – that are accepted for presentation at the meeting will be invited to submit their work as a paper to JMM. All submissions will be handled exactly as for regular submissions, and will be subjected to stringent peer review. There is no guarantee of acceptance but we hope as many authors as possible will submit their work for consideration. The final product will be a valuable resource for current research being done on C. difficile, as well as a useful record of the meeting. The main stipulation for submitted papers is that they must be original: the work must not have been published elsewhere before. We also hope to publish one or two reviews in this issue from an invited speaker.

A submission deadline will be set for around 3 months after the meeting is over (end Sept 2007), and the issue should be published early in 2008 (last time it appeared in February). To prepare your manuscript please check out the Journal website: http://jmm.sgmjournals.org/. Submitted papers should mention the special issue in a covering note. JMM does not have a submission fee or make page charges.
